Random shots from the week
Hauler smilin' this afternoon...Yep, winter is here
fuck yes
Toecutters' 750 2 stroke... NOT restored, just cleaned up. This thing will scream! Should be fully assembled soon?
Buried conduit, will provide power to shop. Had to get creative...
Power finally. Been living in this place for almost a year with no power to shop! Will be back to welding etc soon!

Front end fresh
Spent the afternoon rebuilding the forks on the FXR. New seals, Racetech springs and emulators. The old seals gave up the ghost pretty bad, and were super leaky. Figured while I'm in there might as well do the whole damn deal...These 39mm front-ends are super easy to work on, simple.
Modified dampener.
Extra hole's added to let the fork oil escape/emulator do it's job.
Clean out the shavings from drilling extra holes. Nice and clean in there.
Test fit the emulator...yep, looks good
Fit new fork seals
Carefully pound em in with fancy pants fork seal driver
Cut spacers for new springs...no they weren't that long. The Racetech springs are significantly shorter than the Progressives that were in there, was a little surprised how much. Ended up running with 25mm of pre-load. This little mod combined with the adjustable Progressive 418's out back should work out nicely, and be a huge improvement over stock...Or it will totally suck who knows, gotta wait for spring to find out!

lost and found
Was moving some stuff around the shop and found this gem... I know I have some old Thrasher's around here somewhere. I love finding stuff like this!

Finally
Get some time to work on the FXRP. Will be replacing fork seals, and throwing in some Racetech springs/ cartridges. Should work nicely. Rocker box gasket, primary gasket, cam cover gasket change as well. Progressive 418's on rear. 'RP front fender switched out for stock FXR/Sportster. Had some free stock sporty bars laying around I just mocked up to see...hmmm, actually kinda like. Its tempting to slim this thing down a bit, but I'll probably roll in mostly stock cop set-up. I hate the stock 'RP handlebars, but I'm a bit limited with that damn fairing. Footboards or mids?

Shop Hauler
Was chatting with my grandfather recently and he mentioned selling his horse truck. 1962 ford 1-ton. He bought it sometime in the 60's and has had it since. He used it to haul horses for pack trips into the back country, get fire wood, kid hauler, camper, and to haul his dirt bikes in the 60's and 70's "On Any Sunday" style. He raced Husky's, Bultaco's, probably whatever he could get his hands on, and has a bunch of trophies from back then. Needless to say, the truck has a ton of memories and I'm stoked he decided to sell it to me. Runs killer, used to be an old Standard oil truck. I rode the KZ up to his place near the Canadian border, then strapped it down in the back for the ride home. The truck has a sweet ramp for loading/unloading whatever, and it works great for bikes.
